Great start to the year with a beautiful beach setting wedding in Wairarapa’s Lake Ferry. Both bridal parties got ready onsite in the accommodation suites at Lake Ferry Hotel which made it easy to cover both of them getting ready.

Alanah did a lovely job of the makeup and stepped in when time was running short to help with the hair too – is there anything this lady can’t do?! We had to be super careful to keep the bride hidden at times though – couldn’t let anyone see that gorgeous gown from Wedding Belles! The lads looked fabulous in their suits from Munns Wellington, complete with character socks.

We were so lucky with the weather, hardly a breathe of wind and beautiful sunshine. Jordan Setters led the formal proceedings with the Lake as a splendid backdrop. The sunshine and the wind was gentle. Heather and Paul’s beautiful daughter did a splendid job as flower girl. The vast majority of the bridal party were school teachers – even a Principal in the mix! They were so much fun to work with and were up for anything, including scaling up a steep cliff face to get some fabulous shots.

The rough waves were a dramatic background for the bride and groom – nothing like crashing washes to make a really cool photo. We even kept the bride dry! The perfect day finished off with a reception and dinner where fresh New Zealand seafood dominated the menu. We loved the wedding cake too – great job Jenna’s Cupcakes.

It was so lovely to be a part of your special day Heather and Paul. All the very best for the future.
