We ventured over the hill to Wairarapa for the charming wedding of Kristal and Dave. Brackenridge Country Retreat and Spa is just a stones throw from the well regarded Martinborough wine village. This place has everything you need to get married with an impressive reception room, landscaped gardens, expansive country views and a plethora of country villas for accommodation.

It’s fair to say we clocked up a few kilometres running backwards and forwards between the girls and the guys villas to capture the getting ready shots. Was certainly nice to have them both onsite though before the wedding so both got good coverage. All the groomsmen were brothers which was a really nice touch.

Kristal had the most incredible hair, beautifully finished by the team at D’Vine. We loved the colours of the bridal bouquets which tied in beautifully with the bridesmaids gowns. The wedding ceremony was very traditional, led by Father Bruce England. Children played a big part in the ceremony and looked beautiful in their fancy attire. The happy couple walked out to children blowing bubbles to the song Rainbow Connection. Very sweet!

Bridal party photos were onsite – we had a very short time frame to get these done so it was a bit of a sprint but the finishing result was very pleasing. I loved how the tangerine colour of the girls really popped against the grey skies – lucky to dodge another wet wedding!

We were only booked for a short coverage session for this wedding as family members took over coverage at the reception. Special thanks to Simone from Capture Me Photography for referring me for this job! Always nice to be recommended by another fellow wedding vendor.
