Aston Norwood Gardens in Kaitoke was a splendid Autumnal backdrop for the wedding of Claire and Phil. Claire and her girls got ready in the onsite accommodation. These little chalets had fabulous views of the property.
The weather forecast was not favourable to say the least. It was touch and go as to whether these two would be saying ‘I do’ in front of the gorgeous waterfall or retreat to the indoor venue – a real plus for booking at Aston is they cater fabulously for indoor and outdoor weddings.
The rain cleared just in time and the bride made her way through the garden, looking radiant in her Astra Bridal Gown. The rain softly fell on and off during the ceremony but the umbrellas weren’t out for long. The ceremony was officiated by Belinda Devlin, who was also the Functions Manager on the day – a busy lady!
I had recently added a new toy to my photographers kit, a drone, so we had time to experiment with a few flights, giving you a wonderful birds eye view of Aston Norwood. I really feel it breathes in even more life into the emotion packed videos I make for my couples.
To save on time, Claire and Phil decided to make their grand entrance down the sweeping staircase and go straight into their first dance. It was really special and certainly a showcasing moment of the day. Em’s Flowers did an incredible job decorating this staircase and of course her fabulous bridal bouquets looked divine.
Guests enjoyed a beautiful meal and then the speeches began. A stuffed Easter bunny, his and hers caps and several bottles of Moet featured. The cake by Stiletto Studio Cakes was cut at the end of the photography coverage and we left our happy couple to dance the night away. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Hicks – what a great day we had with you and yours.
